This is the part of the site where I dump all the history knowlege I have, beware!!

Most of the information here is linked to images and objects, I am an art history major! I am hoping to be organized enough to sort it in some way, perhaps era or medium or something. Another page I want to make is an "art you should know" page, full of important art that I think is signifigant enough for the world to care about.

Nicholas William Stuyvesant (1648–1698) 1905 292

A very awkward portrait of Pieter Stuyvesant's second son, Nicolaes Willem Stuyvesant. The artist was so distracted by rendering the face, he forgot this was going to be an equestrian portrait! (NYHS)
